stuff I make with clay.
Working with clay and making pottery is the foundation of my art and craft work. Although I love learning and practicing new things I come back to clay. I make primarily functional pots for people to use. As a material, clay is amazing and wonderful to work with as it can take on so many shapes and forms. Clay can look and feel so lively.
I've been lucky enough to visit and learn from many potters, my first real pots were made learning from Jacob Bera, Chugiak Alaska. Most recently I was able to study extensively with Peter Brondz who has been making pots in Bird Creek, Alaska since the 1980's. I've learned from many in-between and feel so grateful for each of them.
This is simply meant to be a gallery to share a variety of pieces I've made in the last few years. These were fired in a variety of kilns however the wood-fired and salt glazed pots and processes are what I'm most excited about. I'm eager to get more of my handmade work to more people.
